Dato’ Bryce Kwon Beang Ha is one of the most successful Korean entrepreneurs based in Malaysia. He has been in the country for a total of 40 years since he came in 1983. He is the CEO of Henikwon Concrete Industries Sdn Bhd, a company established in 1985. He helped modernize Malaysia by introducing concrete poles, which are more sturdy and cheap, in place of the wood poles used by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). He established the first concrete pole factory in Malaysia, in partnership with Negeri Sembilan PKNS.

Dato’ Kwon also dedicated his time and resources in promoting Malaysian products globally. He introduced advanced technology to improve and expand the distribution of Malaysian products. With this innovation, production and distribution increased both domestically and worldwide. His relentless efforts brought the country’s products to the world stage. Malaysia’s high-tech electrical products garnered an elevated status in the global market through his initiatives.

As President of the Korean Investors Association in Malaysia, he helped encourage Korean companies to invest in Malaysia. His company, Henikwon, was among the top suppliers of Malaysian-made Electrical BusDuct System globally. Henikwon brought Malaysia on the trade map as one of the world’s leading makers of technology products.

Using every opportunity he had to help uplift the status of Malaysia, he intentionally engaged with successful Korean entrepreneurs who have conquered the world stage. He gathered business ideas that will boost Malaysian investment performance during his stint as the president of World Federation of Overseas Korean Trade Association (OKTA) from 2008 to 2012.

He successfully headed a business forum for OKTA in 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, attended by 250 participants in 16 different countries. His excellent performance in the organization brought even more attendees and investment prospects to the 2011 World OKTA General Assembly with 1,367 businessmen from 74 cities in 42 countries.

Dato’ Bryce Kwon also has the full confidence of the Malaysia Trade and Investment Mission of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). He was invited as its guest speaker to share his own experiences in investing in the country. The speech helped raise interest in foreign investment in Malaysia.

Aside from business development, Dato’ Kwon also helped in uplifting the intellect of the Malaysians. In his pursuit, he established the “Henikwon Scholarship” award at the University of Malaya from 1995 to 2011. These scholarships help economically disadvantaged students continue their studies. He went even further to grant the same scholarship to the children of the Malaysian National Royal Police from 2008 to 2010. He believes that doing so will help nurture the future leaders of Malaysia.

Dato’ Bryce Kwon also made a mark in making an eco-friendly business solution named Technomax International Sdn Bhd. This company is the developer of the Micro Auto Wash Machine, whose technology helps conserve water as a new business for water treatment systems.

Lastly, Dato’ Bryce Kwon uses the knowledge and expertise he has gained over the years to commercialize small and medium enterprises in cooperation with global oil companies like Shell, Petron, Petronas and BHP. In his partnership with them, they aim to make a truly successful business history.
